The project aims at creating a tourist guide to the other, the different Sofia – the city which is found neither on the official web site of the municipality, nor in the ordinary travel guides. The project is carried out with the joint efforts of professors, doctoral students, and graduate students in the MA programs (“Art and Contemporaneity”, “Cultural Heritage Management and Socialization”, “Cultural Anthropology”, and “Urban Studies”) of Sofia University’s Department of Cultural Studies and Department of Sociology, in cooperation with the university’s Cultural Center. In the long term, the students will draw a detailed map of the city’s “cultural sites”, conduct interviews with the involved cultural “actors”, collect the required information, and present it in informative, yet captivating short texts.
